The materials we used for the water tables project.
After we tested the river tables with water  this is what happened.

River Tables by Maura
On Friday we set up river tables. We put sand on the first 15cm.  Then we taped a cup with a hole on it, on rulers, on the tin river tables. The river tables had holes in the end so someone had to hold a bucket at the end and let the water plop into it. We propped the river table up with a wooden block. Then we got a cup full of water and poured it in the cup with the hole in it. We watched the water flow through forming the river and ending in the bucket waiting for the water to slowly drain into it. To end the lesson we went on an app called Explain Everything, took a picture of our river table and made a video with captions and arrows. It was lots of fun!

Enrichment Clusters by Lauren
On Friday we had a presentation for an enrichment cluster. Mrs. Corley came in to tell us about the  CDW.  She explained how to get into a business like hers. She told us all about the CDW. One really interesting fact about the CDW is that the building is so big that her custumers drive around in golf carts.  When we were done we got to see some commercials that her company made. After that we got a bag full of CDW products.

Explorer Research
Sorting and organizing our notes
Turning our notes into a research paper

Explorer Project by Grace
This week we started our explorer project. We are researching our explorers, typing about our explorers  and then we will be making a website at the end. I think the hard part about this project is researching useful information because some of the websites I found didn't have enough information or repeated information I already had.

Teamwork Challenges by Charles
At gym we are doing challenges using teamwork. For one of the stations 2 people walk on 2 paddles and walk at the same time. Another station is that you walk on one island ( which is just a wooden box)  to a another island but you can't jump to the other island. So you use 2 wooden board  and connect them to the other island. Don't run because I did and slipped and felt hard on the ground. :-} :-)

Heroes Project by Erin
This week we were with our 3rd and 2nd grade friends. We were studying many heroes, and had to learn about them. We had to make a Prezi about them. We got to present the Prezi in front of the other groups. We all had a lot of fun!

Enrichment Clusters by Zach
In class this week we did an enrichment cluster. In my group that I am in we are doing animation. We are supposed to do a PSA or a commercial. Some people are doing a PSA about recycling or about Patton. Maybe something that makes us learn like reading.

Making Prezis about Amerigo Vespucci.

Enrichment Clusters by Conor
Enrichment clusters are all about your interests and what you like. My cluster is Deep Sea Discovery. We've been finding out ways to save sea life.  Our project is trying to put buckets around the school to collect  money in them, to save sea life.

Laura Ingalls Wilder Assembly by Ben
When we went to the assembly we watched 4 actors act out Laura Ingall's books. They acted as if the were traveling to different places on the prairie. At the end one of the girls goes to a blind college because she is blind. Also on the very end the other girl goes off to be a teacher and the mom and the dad are stuck at home all sad that there children are gone.

Exploring a Sunken Ship
We got to pretend that we were swimming to a ship wreck from a long time ago and pick out artifacts.
Students swimming to get artifacts.
After we got the artifacts we got to look into our History Alive books, look for the artifact, and write down why this artifact was important.
This is our History Alive book it was a very important part of this activity.

Enrichment Clusters by Maura
The whole fourth grade is doing different clubs. There are different categories that you could've gotten into from doing a survey: sketching and drawing (art), under the sea discovery, sports, and computer animation. We can learn about the different jobs that people do in these categories. We are learning a lot and it's so much fun!

Artifacts by Nathan
In Social Studies we pretended we were scuba divers and "swam" to get artifacts from when the New World was discovered.  Then we found out more about them and how the explorers used them.  We found out about an astrolabe and other artifacts.

TASK: DESIGNING A CIRCUIT
 Drawing the schematic
 Building the circuit
The circuit worked

Building a Circuit by Lauren and Lachlan
This week in class we got to plan and make a schematic of the circuit we were going to make.  We needed three batteries, two light bulbs, two switches (or one) and wires.  We hooked up the wires to the batteries and bulbs and we had to turn the switch on and off to make it work.  We could build a series circuit or a parallel circuit.
