4th grade Pirates! The Musical. Arrrr!

This week we had our first 4th grade play in the year. We had a lot of fun working on the pirate play.

We shared our PL projects. Ms. Miller's class came over to share their awesome projects. We are working on our explorer projects and doing well.

We just got our Art Institute forms and we are very excited for the field trip.  Right now we are reading the book The Sixty Eight Rooms. It's about the Thorne Rooms in the Art Institute. We are hoping to finish the book before the field trip.

On Wednesday it was World Read Aloud day. We skyped with the author Kate Klise. She read one page of her book.

This week in class...

In our reading lesson, we were reading about Greek mythology. We studied about a goddess or god. We picked one and pretended to be reporters interviewing the god or goddess. One student was going to act like a news reporter and the other would be the god or goddess. We did a little interview but not a real one. We were just acting it out.

Today we are having a Valentine's party. It will be a BLAST!

Weekly Reflection: February 5

This week in class...

We learned about the explorers and that they explored the New World.  They brought many things like gold and silver. Now we are ready to learn about some of the explorers, like Christopher Columbus.

We are a also reading a book called In the Year and the Boar and Jackie Robinson.  It is about a girl named, Shirley, who was born in China and came to New York to live.  She has to learn a lot about living in America.  This is a funny story to read.  We've also learned about Jackie Robinson.  He was the first African American to play in the major leagues.  He played for the Dodgers.
